Plans and
directs an operations staff of specialists in the general day-to-day
routine work in support of plant sanitation and pest control. Meets
strategic business needs by being involved in cross-functional teams.
Determines resources and provides technical guidance and leadership.
Advise
operations management on effectiveness of routine plant sanitation and
cleaning programs. Guide plants during special plant sanitation issues
including microbiological, environmental control, insect and foreign
material control. Ensure plant follow up of food protections programs
to detect and eliminate sources of contamination. Provide sanitary
design recommendations for new and existing equipment. Provide support
for customers and 3rd party audits. Follow up on Root Cause and
Corrective actions.
Support
the HAACP plan update and validate the plan and pre requisite
programs.
Develop
and maintain cost effective programs and practices that are consistent
across all plants. Work closely with internal and outside sanitation
vendors to improve sanitation performance and costs. Implement and
strengthen Enterprise Sanitation guidelines that will be used in all
ConAgra facilities.
Proactively
utilize process metrics and experience to prevent problems that could
affect product quality and safety. Investigate sanitation issues,
which are resulting in product contamination, reduced shelf-life, or
customer rejection of products. Aid in the identification of root
cause and corrective actions.6. Customer Service: Work closely with
customers on sanitation type complaints. Visit customers to help
resolve issues. Acts as liaison between Plant and customer to maximize
services provided.
Provide
educational and seminar opportunities for Plant Sanitarians. Introduce
new or improved cleaning and pest control methods, procedures,
equipment, technologies and other new developments in the field of
sanitation and pest control. Attend technical meetings to continually
update knowledge in advances in sanitation and pest control. Conduct
internal sanitation and pest control audits as needed.
Provide
recommendations for equipment and machinery-based change (new
equipment, retrofits or design modification of existing equipment –
sanitary design reviews). Work closely with Engineering and equipment
vendors to assure that new equipment meets sanitary design and
regulatory design requirements prior to installation.
Provide
expertise in the development of policies and procedures relating to
sanitation. Standardize practices across plants. This includes
conformance to quality and food safety standards and working with
plant management and others to ensure that these standards are met.
Help establish manning requirements for each plant based on needs.
Support
all pest management functions including the purchase, storage,
inventory, use and disposal of restricted use pesticides and other
hazardous substances. Position plays a technical support role between
three key functions: Pest management vendor, plant QA and Enterprise Procurement.
Spend 50%
of time at the various ConAgra Mill facilities shop floor observing
process workflow, equipment operations, and that sanitation guidelines
are being followed.
