Description
Our IAMS facility in Lewisburg, Ohio has an opening for a Food Scientist in
Pet Care Research and Development Material Development. The purpose
of the position is to develop novel ingredients for dry and wet foods and
treats. The understanding of ingredient functionality and their impact on
nutrient delivery, taste, aroma and texture are necessary.
Focus will be on the impact of ingredients on nutrient delivery and
functionality to deliver high quality nutrition while maintaining a
positive consumer perception and pet feeding experience. Development of
technical models will be critical to drive decision making. A strong
contribution with technology development and initiative teams will be
necessary to deliver project objectives. This position requires cross-functional
teamwork to deliver on business objectives.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the ability to develop technical models
to relate ingredient properties and process conditions to functional
benefits, the ability to lead technical projects and create project
direction and drive it to successful implementation. The candidate
will also have a background that has utilized broad approaches to projects
and exhibited collaboration with multiple functions to deliver against
project goals and the ability to collaborate across functions and
externally.
Also, the candidate will have the ability to bring together individuals to
build a productive team to meet project timelines and business needs as
well as work cross-functionally to develop strategies and strategic
relationships. The candidate will be creative in finding
solutions to technical issues and has developed technical models that
relate to chemistry or biological systems and has the ability to coach and
grow people, lead project teams and be a strong team player.
A PhD in Food Science is required.
