Duties and Responsibilities
|
SUMMARY
The incumbent ensures accurate implementation of and adherence to USA
Quality policies, specifications, programs and functions for all USA manufacturing operations. Lends guidance or
assists in the effective management of the plant’s sanitation program,
HAACP, recall programs, external audits, and food safety compliance.
Provides guidance and leadership to Quality personnel and also to others, including
Plant and Company personnel and visitors. Must work a flexible
schedule, including travel, to support Quality and food safety
activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures accurate implementation
and adherence to corporate Quality policies and programs to ensure
Plant foodsafety and compliance with Company
policies and Federal and State laws and guidelines.
- Set QA goals and objectives
that complement company policies and goals.
- Liaison with the Plant and
quality management team on all Foodservice and retail related issues.
- Assist in the development and
implementation of inspection criteria and procedures.
- Assist in the investigation of
Foodservice and retail complaints when appropriate.
- Assist in the Supplier auditing
program, including facilities.
- Provide advice or guidance on
food safety issues in compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in the area of
Foodservice and retail products with regard to production issues.
- Manage held product with
authority to disposition appropriately and record accordingly.
- Project management to include
planning, scheduling and direction of activities.
- Assist in the development and
execution of Quality training programs, to ensure proper training of
all Quality
personnel.
- Ability to work and interact
effectively with Customers, Plants, Auditors, Regulatory Agencies,
etc.
- Play an active role on group
quality management teams to include SPC.
- Monitor suppliers and maintain COA’s, COC’s, etc.,
according to industry standards.
- Analyze QA laboratory reports
for trends, which may be of concern to the company.
- A clear understanding of, and
the ability to administer the Quality and Food Safety Systems,
including evaluation, revision, and training, to maintain the Systems
effectiveness.
- Assist in the adaptation of new
products and new process procedures where appropriate
- Proficient in problem solving
techniques.
- An advanced understanding of
analytical skills to direct or supervise proper and accurate product
analysis, or laboratory work.
- Develop, administer and
recommend enhancements for Quality Policy, Procedures and other
company related programs.
- Supervise and direct other
Quality personnel where applicable.
- Operate within the limits of
departmental travel and expense budgets.

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
A
bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Five to Seven years’ experience
in frozen food manufacturing operations and/or QA experience in food
processing and an ability to coordinate technical knowledge with production
activities. Must have working knowledge of food safety and sanitation
principles and practices, MCE, computer systems, and production processes
and equipment used in the food industry
