Position 1 -- Quality Assurance Technician -- Contract to Hire

Assure products meet the company’s high standards, expectations, and compliance to quality and food safety regulations. Assure factory sanitation exceeds USDA regulations and meets our high standards. Daily Pre-operational inspections in accordance to company’s SSOP. Relay any and all pertinent information necessary in meeting our high standards of food safety and quality. QCS – Quality Control System data entry, daily QA log use, document reviews for compliance.  Provide assistance to factory’s Environmental Monitoring Program-swab sampling. Investigate customer complaints, returns and perform sanitation/quality audits. Gather data for evaluation, testing, and/or disposition. Assist with other administrative duties and technical documentation. Complete timely and effectively specific project work as assigned. Provide assistance to the Operations’ group regarding any quality exception holds due to errors in processing. Use of information gathering skills to obtain facts when making decisions or recommendations for disposition or follow up – relative to quality/food safety

Candidates must have demonstrated and progressive knowledge and understanding of quality related principles based on years of service in the field as determined by management. Experience will need to be in a manufacturing, specifically in a processing environment - preferably the food industry. Achievement of a related associates degree in Food Science / Quality preferred. Knowledge of GMP’s, Ingredient Knowledge, processing (raw) and HACCP is needed if food related experience is demonstrated. Must have excellent written communication, project management, implementation, math and writing skills. Candidate must also have the ability to demonstrate strategic thinking skills, have schedule flexibility and be able to work with diverse groups in a team environment. Apply sound problem solving skills and ability to apply good judgment in deductive reasoning. Strongly analytical, attentive to details, work independent of supervision, ability to manage multiple job requirements / project (multi-task effectively). Competencies desired: adding value (results focus, initiative, innovation and renovation) curiosity and pro-active co-operation. Computer skills include MS 2000, Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency and internal Nestle / Minor systems. Ability and willingness to travel as needed, to work at times on other shifts when necessary to perform the duties of the position and support department needs.



Job Requirements


· BS in Food Science or Food Technology.

· 1-3 years experience in Product Development.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Knowledge of stabilizer systems, colors, flavors, and other food ingredients.

· Strong personal and time management skills.

· Knowledge of computer systems, Windows, Microsoft Office, SAP.
