Job Description

National Starch has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Food Technologist position in its Product Innovation group located at their corporate headquarters in Bridgewater, NJ.

The Senior Food Technologist will support Sales and Tech Service by providing product recommendations and plant trial coverage as needed.

Responsibilities include:

• Working with team to develop customer focused presentations. • Key team member in supporting Marketing driven development, scale-up, and introduction of new ingredient products • Supporting manufacturing directly to improve to product and process quality while coordinating specification upgrades. • Evaluating competitive products samples and providing feedback to the global team. • Product line expert with the ability to provide training. • Regular participation in global Franchise & Core Team meetings.

Requirements: • BS degree in Food Science or a Technical degree with 3 years experience working with food product development. Master’s degree a plus. • 3 yrs. minimum experience in food ingredients / food applications. • Demonstrated food-related technical background. • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving capability. • Strong written and oral communication skills. • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. • Team player, able to work cross functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Tech Service and Marketing. • Operates with minimum supervision and is able to drive objectives in a timely fashion. • Strong time management skills enabling management of multiple priorities.
