QA/QC Manager – Food Science Industry

Kelly Scientific Resources is currently seeking a QA/QC manager for a major food company in the greater Triad area of North Carolina.  This company is a consistent leader in its field, and is highly respected for its high quality goods and scope of products and services.  Candidates with strong experience in the food science industry will be considered for this great direct hire opportunity.   

 

Responsibilities:

-Responsible for day-to-day duties of Quality Control, Laboratory and Quality Assurance

-Manage to the day to day activities of the analytical lab supporting QC functions for manufacturing plants and stores

-Conduct Internal Sensory testing

-Act as liaison for outside analytical laboratories

-Maintain service contracts for laboratory equipment and troubleshoot and repair non-service contract lab equipment

-Analyze data from analytical testing to be used in Statistical Process Control applications and equipment adjustments

-Interpret QC data from use of amylographs, moisture testing, fat analyzers, and protein analysis

-Oversee planning and scheduling of laboratory activities and develop SOPs

-Analyze supplier’s QC data and returned products that involve customer complaints

-Manage special projects with regards to regulatory (nutritional) and safety requirements

-Lead the integration and implementation of quality assurance and food safety programs (HACCP, QSR, etc.) across mix plant and manufacturing stores. 

-Oversee activities related to regulatory audits, incoming ingredient inspections, product scoring, food safety audits,  and standardized work instructions.

-Develop and execute new Quality Assurance programs for continuous improvement of products and operations.

-Train and maintain all training records for critical SOP and quality requirements.  Document and maintain training registry for all employees at the manufacturing site(s).

 

Requirements:

-BS Degree in Food Science or Food Chemistry preferred

-2+ years QC/QA experience with a major food company

-Working knowledge of sensory evaluation theory and methodology

-Nutritional Analysis using the Genesis Program
