Responsibilities:

Pilgrim's is seeking a Sr. Food Technologist.  This position will office out of either our Boaz, AL or Greeley, CO location.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Development of new products and line extensions from bench top to commercialization for Pilgrim's Child Nutrition (CN) category.

·         Provide technical support for start up operations in production.

·         Formulate cost reduced versions of existing products.

·         Assist in the evaluation of new technology and processes.

·         Document all testing procedures and prepare recommended production procedures.

·         Interact with other departments such as QA, Production, Scheduling and Marketing to assure a successful project.

·         Under minimal supervision, initiate projects and work on projects from other sources.

Qualifications:

BASIC SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience OR Master's Degree in Meat/Food Science and minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Effective presentation skills

·         Proven ability to manage multiple projects

·         May travel up to 40% of the time

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field
