Description International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) is a leading creator and manufacturer of flavors and fragrances used in a wide variety of consumer products-from fine fragrances and toiletries, to soaps, detergents and other household products, to beverages and food products.

This position is responsible for site compliance with all federal, state and local regulations concerning standards related to employee health & safety, environmental regulations and food safety regulations.  Maintain, promote and implement all site health, safety and environmental programs for employee safety.  Maintain and promote all site food safety regulations.

1.  Coordinate all site activities regarding employee health and safety programs working with corporate regulatory officers and/or OSHA auditors.  Advise management of any new or existing regulations and their impact on the site as well as the following:

·        identify and communicate site health & safety issues to management

·        organize, coordinate and/or direct site safety and environmental groups, e.g. Safety Council, Safety Committee, PSM, various task forces

·        arrange, coordinate and/or provide direction and support for site safety training

·        act as liaison with corporate health & safety officers

·        coordinate site accident and incident follow-up activities

·        promote safe work practices and procedures

·        maintain professional associations with regards to safety and keep up to date on regulations

·        manage audiogram and annual physical program for the site

·        promote health and wellness objectives, e.g. annual flu shot program

liaison with company’s workers’ compensation carrier for on-site inspections and audits

2.  Coordinate all site activities regarding environmental compliance and sustainability programs. Advise management of new or existing regulations and their impact on the site as well as the following:

·        prepare and submit required environmental reports

·        act as liaison with corporate environmental compliance officers

·        maintain environmental records and files

·        recycling programs

·        sustainability initiatives and goals tracking and measuring

arrange for all site environmental training

3.  Coordinate all site activities regarding food safety compliance and advise management of new or existing regulations and their impact on the site.  Specific responsibilities to include the following:

·        prepare and submit required governmental applications and obtain certifications

·        act as liaison with site quality manager and corporate food safety management

·        maintain food safety program records and files

·        deliver all site food safety training

·        meet with internal and external auditors (customer and governmental) to review compliance with criteria for performance

    4.  Perform other duties as requested

 

 

 

 

Requirements

Essential:

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, or other Safety related field

·        Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing area

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include previous communication with customers or outside governmental agencies

·        Strong organizational skills with the capability of managing multiple projects

·        Minimum of 3 years experience in computer systems to include word processing, spreadsheet, internet and e-mail systems

 

Preferred: 

·        3 years working experience in a Safety and Health capacity for a manufacturing company

·        Working experience with governmental agencies such as OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, State Health Boards

·        Working experience with ISO Achiever software programs
