Lab Technician, Quality Control/Quality Assurance Job Description This position is
responsible for enhancing existing products and new custom-designed products,
as well as design the processes and understand the machinery for making products
with a consistent flavor, color, and texture in large quantity production
within food service and retail design. Duties
include, but are not limited to: •Modifying existing products and processes
to develop new products; •Preparing product costing based on raw material and
manufacturing cost to produce positive results; •Creating spreadsheets to
compile process and inspection statistics; •Administration of and devising
policy for government department; •Researching current retail consumer market
and latest technologies to develop new cost product concept; •Performing
Vitamin A testing using HPLC, and maintain records and data as needed. Position
Requirements: •A degree in biology, chemistry, or food science is preferred;
•A complete understanding of food manufacturing processes and recipe
formulations of Bakery Mix and Dry Mix products; •A competent working
knowledge of ingredients and raw materials; •Analytical skills and the
ability to relate and communicate to others with complete understanding;
•7-10 years experience as a QC/QA Technician/Lab
Technician in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment;
•Quality-control testing experience and familiarity with testing food product
during all phases of the production required. •Good documentation skills and
good interpersonal communication skills. •Laboratory experience to include
HPLC and Gas Chromatography machines or other food-related testing equipment;
•Work flexible hours as needed; •Ability to adapt to changing organizational
and operational needs and lead others through change; •Knowledge of HACCP,
USDA, FDA, SQF, AIB, cGMP and Sanitation
guidelines; •Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to
detail; •Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and TQM preferred. Interested
