The Food Safety & Quality Systems Supervisor is responsible for
leading the daily activities on the production floor of the department.
The primary focus of this position is to coordinate the responsibilities
of the department with the Operations, Sanitation, and Engineering departments
to ensure 100% customer satisfaction in all areas of assured supply,
product specifications, quality, and food safety. The primary purpose of
the FSQS Supervisor is to provide leadership, in direct supervision of
FSQS Associates. FSQS Supervisor will strive to identify and remove any

and/or the AVP of Operations/General Manager is informed of any concerns
pertaining to food safety or non-compliant product issues.
The FSQS Supervisor is responsible for establishing, maintaining and
projecting a high level of urgency with regard to food safety, product quality
and the training/development of all associates on these issues.
The FSQS Supervisor is responsible for holding the FSQS Associates
accountable for assigned specific responsibilities respectively, within
the facility and the department.
The FSQS Supervisor will guide and direct the energies of the department
toward achievement of department goals and/or cross-functional goals
demonstrating strong traits of teamwork, while encouraging others to do

The FSQS Supervisor is responsible for the continued growth and
development of all members of the department, ensuring those identified
as back-ups for key positions receive the grooming and mentoring
necessary to provide a strong platform from which to promote.
The FSQS Supervisor is responsible for performing formal annual reviews
of department personnel; making appropriate recommendations for wage
increase consideration, based on performance and overall contribution. In
addition, the review of performance deemed above and beyond, will be
evaluated at year-end with recommendations provided to the FSQS Manager.
The FSQS Supervisor will work closely with the FSQS Manager and/or FSQS
Superintendent, the Human Resources department, and the facility General
Manager in the preparation and adherence to succession planning agendas
for department personnel, providing progress reports as directed.
The FSQS Supervisor will be responsible for the input of process data.
The FSQS Supervisor is responsible for participating in the capacity of a
resource, to all departments as directed during continued company growth
The FSQS Supervisor will continue pursuing additional knowledge in the
areas of SPC (Statistical Process Control) for process improvement
initiatives and HACCP.
The FSQS Supervisor will be required to continue to focus on adherence to
product specifications, sensory attributes, PQI (Product Quality
Index)/food claims, animal welfare and related industry information.
The FSQS Supervisor will perform daily travel paths with the FSQS
Superintendent to identify and address opportunities impacting product
quality, food safety, and workplace safety.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

The FSQS Supervisor should be knowledgeable of HACCP and SSOP regulatory
requirements and the implementation of those requirements within the
facility. Basic HACCP certification is required.
The FSQS Supervisor should be familiar with all facility food safety
requirements and program s, be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word
and Excel, be experienced in drafting SOPs, facility action plans and
take a lead in conducting internal audits as well as lead third party
The FSQS Supervisor must have an understanding of basic statistics, and
be able to support the implementation of SPC on the shop floor.
The FSQS Supervisor should have the ability to manage 10-15 FSQS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Food Science or related field with a minimum of 5
years Quality Assurance / Food Safety or other related experience, or any
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
The FSQS Supervisor shall have attend and receive certification in Basic
HACCP through any HACCP Alliance Certified program.
