Description
In this role as an
Associate Scientist II you will apply knowledge of food science
principles and ingredients interaction and ingredient functionality to
create innovative new product formulations or line extensions.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, bench and pilot
plant development, consumer test design and production, and specification
development and management.
This role will
work closely with group leaders and scientists to execute critical
Research & Development project steps beginning with bench top
formulation, pilot plant trials, and plant trials and commercialization
that result in new product launches.

Develop innovative product formulations as well as
line extensions and brand support to existing brands.
·
Understanding of ingredients’ functionality and
testing of new ingredient technology from key suppliers for next
generation of product improvements.
·
Develop formulations and prototypes for consumer
testing.
·
Coordinate sensory and analytical testing of
prototype formulas.
·
Assist Process Engineers with pilot plant trials
and manufacturing for launch.
·
Assist Project Manager or Scientist with project
planning and timeline development.
·
Ability to synthesize data from a wide variety of
sources and apply training to draw logical conclusions.
·
Design and conduct stability studies to ensure
adequate shelf life for new formulations.
·
Assessment of competitive products and
technologies.
·
Develop and manage product specifications.
·
Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook and record
all laboratory experiments. Complete required documentation within all Mondelēz International document management
systems.

Assist in maintaining all laboratory equipment and
ensure compliance with established safety standards / practices for
laboratory, pilot plant and the R&D facility.
Qualifications
·
Ability to work
collaboratively with cross-functional teams and internal R&D clients
and colleagues while applying technical input on all projects.
·
Demonstrate creative flair and strong problem
solving abilities
·
Build and establish business partnering skills with
R&D, Supply Chain and Commercial group.
·
Ability to apply mathematical concepts to design
and implementation of food systems.
·
Excellent oral and written skills and have the
ability to present technical findings to team.
·
Ability to work proactively, independently, and in
teams to achieve goals across multiple projects while maintaining
attention to detail.
·
Ability to travel.
·
Proficient use of Microsoft Office and Outlook
email system.
·
B.S in Food Science/Food
Engineering/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering with two or more years of
experience. Masters degree.
