in the management of quality control activities for all phases of production,
personnel and laboratory operations. Schedules and assigns workloads; and
maintains close rapport with production to identify, solve and prevent
problems affecting quality. Directs product quality surveillance of
manufacturing areas with possible HACCP monitoring, conducts periodic
facility inspections and may perform daily bacteriological environmental
inspections in critical plant areas; supervises special inspections for
incoming materials, end-of-run products, etc. Coordinates with production in
the monitoring of packaging lines for effective control of weights, metal
detection, codes and product/package integrity. 3 years related experience. Responsibilities: ·
Coordinate quality assurance
activities ·
Provide technical assistance &
training to personnel ·
Monitor & verify the HACCP plan's
CCPs ·
Assure documents required by the
regulatory are properly reviewed & filed ·
Conduct GMP & sanitation audits of
operations & warehouse areas ·
Work with operation personnel on
quality & safety issues ·
Verify operations controls systems are
functional & being followed ·
Place product on hold, release or
disposition as needed ·
Evaluate & disposition for damaged
products ·
Coordinate resolution of customer
complaints ·
Assist in trouble-shooting quality
related issues ·
Serve as a back up
for Plant Quality in their absence Qualifications: ·
Bachelor of Science degree required in
Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or related field required ·
Minimum 3 years in Food Industry
required with 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred ·
Excellent knowledge of FDA, USDA and
HACCP requirements applicable to the facility ·
Thorough knowledge of laboratory
activities to include microbiological testing not limited to SPC, Coliform/E.coli, Salmonella, Listeria, Yeast and Mold; analytical
testing to include moisture, color, HPLC ·
Thorough knowledge of Good Sanitation
