programs and inspection/audit procedures at Sysco OpCos
from procurement through delivery to ensure compliance of products
marketed by Sysco to all applicable Food Safety regulations (ex. FSMA,
SFTA, USDA FSIS HACCP Regulations for Meat & Poultry, Shell Egg
Food Safety, FDA Seafood HACCP, et al) as well as any mutually agreed
upon specifications / requirements for Multi-unit Account Customer
audit tools and reporting for Key Food Safety Performance Indicators
(KPI) to demonstrate compliance with Sysco’s FSQA Programs and
pertinent Regulations. Use data from the KPI’s to manage process
improvement initiatives or projects to further mitigate Sysco’s food
safety risk and to differentiate Sysco from its competitors.
formal OpCo Visit Reports to document
results of FSQA Program audits and provide feedback necessary to
ensure compliance with Sysco FSQA Program and any Regulatory

Support OpCo FSQA personnel to respond to

the design, development, and implementation of additional Food Safety
and Quality Assurance programs and inspection/audit procedures as
needed to ensure compliance of Sysco Branded and/or non-branded
products to regulatory requirements and/or agreed upon MUA
specifications/food safety requirements.
formal FSQA Program reassessment on an annual basis or upon any food
safety system change and/or regulation that would mandate
reassessment. Communicate changes in FSQA to OpCos
and other necessary stakeholders.
on-going mutually beneficial relationships with MUA customers, liaise
with MUA Customer and OpCos to evaluate and
respond to customer driven impacts affecting FSQA programs, and
provide technical support to address issues related to Food Safety
during independent or customer audits or issues with products
involving food safety.

OCCASIONAL/MARGINAL JOB DUTIES:
Provide assistance, when necessary, to other Sysco
corporate QA programs associated with Sysco Brand Supplier Approval,
Approved Supplier Plant Visits, on-going monitoring of Suppliers and Products,
Product Evaluations, and responding to customer issues.
Incumbent frequently interacts with the following:
Sysco OpCo Operations, Merchandising, Sales, and
Executive Personnel, Sysco Corporate Merchandising and Supply Chain
Services (SMS) Business Center Merchandising Personnel, corporate Quality
Assurance Department, Customers, and Supplier personnel at all levels.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Food Science, Agricultural Science, Biological Science, or
related area from an accredited four-year college or university
least three years experience in Distribution
Center Foodservice Operations, Quality Assurance/Control, R&D or
Supplier Production/Operations required.
work experience will be evaluated for non-degreed candidates (High
School Diploma and 7 years of work experience in Distribution Food
service Operations, Quality Assurance/Control, R&D or Supplier
job training in Sysco SWMS/SUS or other systems, HACCP, knowledge of
USDA/FDA regulations would be beneficial.
have a valid driver’s license and insurance.
