Job Title: Senior Associate - Savory

Business Unit: Global Innovation Group/Applications
Relocation: Yes – Relocation Within Country
Function and Scope of Role:
Lead the soups, sauces, gravies, dressings (SSGD) global
applications function for National Starch Food Innovation (NSFI).
This includes developing and leading key innovation projects, support of
go-to-market initiatives, managing the SSGD application team/ laboratories
in Bridgewater and coordinating with key business and technical functions
to advance projects/ programs of interest.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
Product Development - Play a leading role
in new product introduction, launches, repositioning activity and other
go-to-market and Customer Solutions and Product Innovation (CSPI)
application support activity.
Developing the strategy and roadmap for
the savory and other related segments for NSFI both regionally and globally
including leadership in shaping the activities of the SSGD Global Expertise
Team (GET) team. Work with global marketing and technical functions
in order to define and advance programs and projects.
Supervisory and Team Leadership - Lead and manage the
SSGD applications team based in Bridgewater NJ. This includes supervisory
responsibility as well as project/ portfolio management responsibility for
Project Management - Define, justify,
and lead/ support projects for identified market segments including team
development, leadership, and timely delivery of agreed upon technical and
Technology - Intellectual
leadership and innovation management including shaping and developing
intellectual property from the team. This includes conducting prior art
searches (literature, patents) related to projects and staying abreast of
savory technology development (market trends, IP landscape). Independently
develop understanding of prior art in savory science & technology to
advance projects of defined scope. Knowledge management including key
initiatives such as product architecture. Continue to develop
expertise in formulation science and technology for this key segment for
NSFI including providing required education and training.
PhD in Food Science or a related filed with 3+ years of relevant experience
or MS in Food Science with 8+ years relevant work experience required.
Exceptional candidates with a BS in Food Science plus 10+ years relevant
work experience may be considered.
Deep food science skills with experience in soups, sauces, gravies,
dressings and other relevant areas.
Experience with developing and leading research and development projects.
Supervisory skills and experience.
Solid Portfolio/program and project management skills with the ability to
function and manage projects in a matrix organization.
Strong business acumen including ability to develop and validate value
approved within Country.
