SUMMARY: This manager is typically
responsible for R&D activities involving a major business segment,
often involving a National Account customer or customers where dedicated
and separate researchers are deployed. While this manager may be involved
directly (hands on) with R&D activities, he/she must also manage and
supervise the work of several professional researchers and support staff
that will be working on many different projects concurrently. This
manager works closely with the technical and management groups of major
customers and is often our most frequent contact with that customer.
Typically would have work experience as a Project Leader and demonstrated
all skills necessary for that job.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Preferred BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Food Science with study
emphasis in protein foods (poultry, beef, pork, fish).
Experience: 8+ years work in R&D with diverse research
experience.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. For example, generating
simple letters, spreadsheets, and/or graphics for personal business use.
If using a Tyson Business Computer System, job requires an understanding
of the system features and functionality and how to use these features.
Travel: 12 or more domestic trips per year.
Supervisory Skills: This position is responsible for supervising
a group of personnel in a single department or work unit, consisting of
professional researchers and support staff, who perform similar and/or
interrelated tasks and activities.
