Job Description :

Kelly Scientific Resources currently has a 4 month contract, R&D Food Science Laboratory Technician position in the Lakeville, MN area. Position would be Monday – Friday, 1st shift, starting as soon as possible.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Accurate and efficient analysis of raw materials, in process product and finished product in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Understand and comply with all food safety and food manufacturing policies and procedures.
  • Operate laboratory equipment in a consistent and accurate manner according to approved methods. 
  • Create and revises methods, procedures and protocols as needed.
  • Maintain calibration programs and performs all calibrations for the site to ensure accuracy and proper functionality of equipment.
  • Compile, analyze and summarize data as a review for completeness and accuracy
  • Write reports that include a summary of results, graphs and statistical analysis along with recommendations and/or next steps
  • Maintain and documents records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain complete records of procedures followed, as well as observations and results obtained from product or package measures.
  • Obtain and handle samples from production plant/equipment locations for analysis in a safe and sanitary manner that is compliant with GMP's.
  • Coordinate collecting, compiling, and analyzing required technical information including, but not limited to, chemical, physical or sensory information about products, processing conditions, or packaging compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to others on laboratory procedures. 
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of all analytical equipment and test methods.
  • Assume administrative duties to prepare and submit product for internal or external analysis as directed.
  • Track, order and stock laboratory supplies.
  • Maintain a laboratory environment that is clean, orderly and safe.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts, day-to-day business processes and Research & Development projects as required.
  • Advise project leaders of any technical hurdles or logistics issues.

REQUIREMENTS

·         BA/BS in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field

·         Flexible to work possible weekends/evenings

·         Some travel is expected (<20%)

·         Excellent communication and problem solving skills

·         Work well within a team environment

·         Proficient with computers (word processing, spreadsheets, and graphing)
