The purpose of this position is to
provide technical leadership that enables system scaling of new products
and identifies opportunities for improvements to existing products
including core menu enhancement.
In addition to following McDonald’s policies and
procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
·Assists Global Sr Director and markets with scaling new products and
adhering to product standards
Ensures that staff and
suppliers understand the business case for product standards.
Works with market level
leads and suppliers to identify options for meeting standards, through
understanding of industry technologies and capabilities.
Liaisons with Global Supply
Chain and Quality Systems on the commercialization (e.g., supplier
approval, product integrity, increased capacity, legality of new
ingredients) potential across system.
·Helps guide core menu
improvements based on identified opportunities
Leverages suppliers and
other system resources for improvements to core menu items according to
established product standards and characteristics.
Acts as Global Menu
Strategy liaison for Global Sensory Team to:
o Investigate and prove out
robust core menu improvements that are safe, consistent, feasible, fulfill
product/brand requirements, and meet all critical taste standards.
o Design laboratory and
confirmation (scale-up) experiments that examine the operational and
formulation variables that impact key product attributes such as taste,
appearance, texture, etc.
·Assists in fulfilling the
Global Menu Strategy group vision by serving as technical expert.
Serves as Global Menu
strategy team representative to suppliers and cross functional counterparts
for product standards and protocols.
Maintains knowledge of
McDonald's operating systems and history, product standards, and
technologies and explores how to apply them to McDonald's menu needs.
operational platforms as needed to improve processes and meet strategic
ongoing coaching, training and development of suppliers, AOW and market
leads in food development.
Participates with the
Global Menu Strategy leadership team to ensure priorities are aligned and
adherence to the G&A and project budgets.
