SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The incumbent for this position will oversee the development and
implementation of a new Food Safety program including development of the
curriculum, courses, student projects, lab activities, student learning
outcomes assessment, and related manuals that meet national standards and
guidelines. The incumbent will teach courses, preparing students with the
training, qualifications, knowledge and skills to meet the growing food
safety and science needs within our community or for transfer to a
Bachelor of Science degree program. Knowledge of and experience with
instructional program development, syllabus construction, and student
learning outcomes assessment is preferred. Food safety certification(s)
(e.g. ServSafe, HACCP, Better Process Control
School, ISO etc.) preferred. The incumbent may serve as a Department
Chairperson, upon appointment by the Campus Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Four (4) years of relevant experience to include experience in food
safety, food science, or related field.
Working knowledge of food safety principles and practices, risk
assessment, and environmental management at the various stages of food
production, from farm to table.
Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with a diverse
population in a multicultural environment.
