Food Safety Technician Inspector Orange County, CA


Growing Specialty Food Manufacturer of dips, sauces, and dressings is seeking a Food Safety Technician Inspector to join their growing team.



Responsible for supporting and assisting the QA Staff on quality control on production floor. In the event of any deviation from established food safety or product quality control parameters or standards, the position is responsible for conducting on-site root cause analysis and make needed decisions to continue or stop the line; as well as make necessary changes before resuming production.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Plan and assign QA Technicians to their production lines at start up of production according to the production schedule. Provide Technicians with tools, information, and help to properly start without having any delays. Revise weekly schedule according to updated production schedule.
  • Plan and assign the Sanitation technicians to their work area according to production needs, and Revise weekly schedule according to updated production schedule.
  • Maintain analytical equipment calibration schedule used by QA department. Assigned QA Technicians to keep records of calibration and ensure this practice is effectively performed by schedule.
  • Monitor GMP policies and ensure compliance during processing. Ensure QA personnel are following Food Safety policies and SOPs
  • Control QA hold inventory and conduct QA hold inventory transfers / disposition and required reports on ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for new label transition control to ensure smooth change-over
  • Assist in label review process by preparing label mock-up samples.
  • On daily basis, keep all the QA documentation on file.
  • Responsible for Micro sampling.
  • Keep QA Technicians informed of changes on documentation or procedures to the process that they need to be aware of.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • HACCP program development and implementation experience, good communication and organizational skills, good problem solving and analytical skills; intermediate to advanced personal computer skills on Excel, Word, and Power Point preferred; good documentation, organization, review skills, and quality audit experience.
  • A minimum of 3+ years working experience in the Food Industry with the following experience- quality inspection, HACCP, implementation and validation, root cause analysis, and quality process control.
