To support this growth, NatureBox is building our sourcing team to ensure a delightful customer experience. We are heads-down focused on growing and developing a winning product assortment. The challenge promises to be an amazing professional learning experience – building product assortment from the ground up and being in charge of placing large purchase orders from day one.

NatureBox is looking for a smart, eager, hard-working, creative candidate with strong sourcing experience, analytical, vendor relationship, negotiation and organizational skills. This candidate will help manage existing supplier relationships and help to identify new suppliers in support of our rapid growth. NatureBox is located in downtown San Carlos, CA, and is backed by leading venture capital firms. The company offers full benefits.


Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects for the sourcing team.
Negotiating with vendors as they relate to assigned product lines in all aspects of product development. This includes ideation, adaptation, costing, product quality and distribution related issues.
Respond to vendor cold calls and recommend new vendors and products that meet the company’s requirements.
Perform market analysis, competitive shop and analyze sales trends to keep abreast of current trends. Obtain feedback from stores to improve product and add to collections.
Control spoilage, achieve margin goals, and collaborate with the team in conducting inventories.
Maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding margin and sales targets.
Maintain accurate purchase journals and process invoices and credits.
Manage supplier files to ensure required compliance documentation is present, accurate and up to date.
Ensures replenishment orders are placed for each item taking into account on-hand inventory and supplier lead times.
Seeks quality secondary sources to supplement primary sources as necessary.
Attending trade shows as necessary.

Bachelor’s Degree in business, food science, or related fields with 5-7 years of merchandising or purchasing experience (preferably in the specialty and/or natural food industry).
Experience building multi-year relationships with vendors, preferably in the private label space.
Interest in start-up companies is a MUST. Start-up experience strongly preferred
