Job Description
The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at Iowa State
University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate with
training in food science or food, agricultural or chemical engineering. The
broad research activity would involve coproducts
utilization for biomaterials, biopolymer-based delivery systems, biofuel, and health-benefiting protein products etc.
Experience in food biotechnology (Fermentation, Enzyme development and
purification) would be advantageous. Experience with lab analytical
equipment needed.
Required Qualifications
PhD in food science or food, agricultural or chemical engineering
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in working with fermentation and enzyme applications is desired.
Other useful experiences include: protein extraction and characterization;
protein-based delivery system, biofilm etc. It is
also desirable to have experience working with pilot-scale food-processing
equipment.
Salary
$34,000 - $36,000
Special Conditions
The appointment is for a minimum of 1 year with continued appointment
dependent upon funding availability.
