Academic Year  

The Dairy Science Department is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and energetic individual to fill a key tenure track Assistant Professorship (academic year) in our renowned and innovative program. The emphasis of the position is in the area of dairy processing/foods and has both teaching (80%) and scholarly/research components (20%). Working closely with our world class faculty, this person is charged to: develop and instruct undergraduate and graduate courses related to dairy products, dairy manufacturing, milk processing and inspection, dairy foods evaluation, quality assurance and control, or dairy plant management and equipment; develop and conduct productive and innovative recruitment activities that will increase the number of students in the dairy foods areas of study; develop, and conduct research and outreach programs in dairy foods; successfully secure needed resources through competitive grants and other means to support and expand program activities; establish a consistent and strong record of oral and written presentation of work; gain peer recognition of excellence and leadership in teaching and research work; advise undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will have a key role in helping the department continue to grow its leadership role in one of the largest agricultural economies in the world. Ph.D. in Dairy/Food Science or closely related discipline with demonstrated potential to complement and strengthen the substantial university expertise within dairy foods teaching, research, and outreach; dedication and an enthusiastic commitment to teaching and students.  

Additional consideration will be given to candidates with prior university teaching experience, two to three years of post-doctoral research experience or other relevant work experience, or demonstrated success at grant development.

The Center's dynamic faculty and graduate program create innovations, solve critical problems and provide essential services that help ensure our relevance and importance.

Department faculty are active in research and related professional activities and serve as thesis advisors for students working toward a Master of Science.
