R&D Food Scientist – Swedesboro, NJ
Description
Responsibilities
include:
·
Execute culinary driven new product development through
concept, recipe and trend research
·
Experience in product formulation and maintenance
responsibility for new and current customers
·
Responsible for the commercialization of product
formulations from bench top to full production
·
Generate the nutritional panel information using
Formulator software
·
Assist in initiating the final versions of formulations,
taking them through the internal commercialization process (ie: from the bench top, through small scale pilot
testing, to final formulations complete with manufacturing procedures)
·
Assist in leading the Research and Development team;
consistently find ways to improve processes and functions
·
Any additional duties assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
/ Qualifications:
·
BS / BA in Culinary Arts / Culinary Food Science or Food
Science
·
Culinary Research and Development and food technology
experience required
·
A solid understanding the use of all natural and organic
ingredients, product formulations and procedures that fit our core
manufacturing capabilities
·
Proven track record in new product development and product
launches with an established network within Research and Development,
supplier and the food manufacturing industry
·
Previous experience with dressing and sauce manufacturing,
technical understanding of ingredients including oils, gums and starches
·
Processing experience with low pH and acidified foods with
an understanding of kettle pasteurizing with both cold fill and hot fill
capabilities
·
Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility and capability
in handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
·
Must be knowledgeable of Nutra
Facts panels and use of NFP software
·
Strong interpersonal, communication and computer skills
