Overview

Develops, maintains and promotes Food Safety Plans. Ensures Food Safety and Quality Systems are adhered to in the sourcing, storage and distribution of our products. Take leadership role in Food Safety and Quality Assurance training of all associates.

Responsibilities

  • Manage corrective action system to ensure resolution to complaints for all branches
  • Support HACCP plan development, maintenance and compliance with operating units
  • Manage cold chain temperature monitor deployment, maintenance, Analysis and Reporting Process
  • Manage corporate wide quality assurance standards through branch consistent programs
  • Assures branch and company governmental and regulatory compliance
  • Manage 3rd party Audit process and champions “Best Practices” procedures documentation leading to GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) audit compliance
  • Leads the organization in the documentation of procedures and processes, through the implementation and oversight of all quality programs
  • Assist in FSA Brand Compliance to ensure products are in specification
  • Assist in Quality Assurance Group product cuttings and further develop standards for scoring measures and analysis
  • Frequently communicates and interacts with all departments including Operations, Sales, and Category Management to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Interacts with all SGA family of companies (SSA, Ameristar, Amerifresh and Gampac) to align company initiatives and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in Quality Assurance or food auditing
  • Proficient in HACCP Plan and Food Safety Plan development.
  • HACCP Certified
  • Knowledge of GFSI audit standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

  • Presentation and training abilities
  • Proficient in excel, word, powerpoint and database query software
  • Detail oriented, self motivated, and the ability to multi task
  • Adapt quickly and expand responsibilities as business changes
  • Experience handling escalated customer concerns

Travel:

Approximately 25% to the FSA or SSA operating unit locations, IMA or suppliers

Relocation:

This position is located at the FSA Scottsdale, AZ office. Relocation assistance may be available.
