Additionally, we also provide materials testing, characterization, and forensic laboratory services for a wide range of commercial, industrial, regulatory, and law enforcement clients.

We currently have a full-time opening for a Food Chemist at our Cinnaminson, NJ location.

Working under the direction of a senior staff member, the candidate will be primarily responsible for the sample preparation and testing of food products for nutritional content and product safety.

Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Perform a variety of sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure chemical and physical properties in a variety of food products

Conduct routine analysis in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs

Maintain and complete all laboratory documentation in clear and accurate language

Operate and maintain basic analytical equipment and instrumentation designated for food analysis (will be trained)

Perform calculations and conversions, and compile the data obtained

Manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame

Maintain a clean and safe laboratory work environment


Qualifications & Experience:

MS or Ph D Degree in Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science.

Minimum 2 years hands on laboratory experience in either one of the following categories: Nutritional, heavy metals, minerals, colorants, Pesticides, Drug Residue, antibiotics, vitamins, meats, and/or grains.

Experience in quantitative analysis, trace analysis, method development, and sample preparation techniques.

Previous experience in food chemistry, food sample preparation and analysis preferred.

Must have knowledge of wet chemistry techniques.

Ability to complete data calculations including percents, ratios and common algebraic formulae.

Experience working with HPLC, LCMS, GC, GC/MS, ICP, ICP/MS, IC, TLC, NMR.

Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary and able to multi task

Ability to work with little or no supervision in a fast-paced work environment and interact effectively with all levels of staff

Good written and oral communication skills

Knowledge of basic computer skills such Microsoft Outlook, word and excel is required

Hours: Monday Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM but flexibility is required.
