Operations Chemistry Manager - Food Science – Lisle - Tinley Park, IL
LOOK Staffing is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to
run the Chemistry department of a well-established privately held food
science organization with over 2000 employees world-wide. This
outstanding company provides great benefits and opportunities for

Environments.
The Operations Manager is responsible for making sure
that laboratory operations run smoothly and that work is completed in a
timely manner.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and
maintaining systems that ensure that proper methodologies are
utilized. The company is ISO certified.
- Review procedures
and modify process as determined for quality and efficiencies.
- Review data and
interpret to correct deficiencies before results are provided to
clients.
- Communicate with
clients on issues regarding procedures, operations, or any
difficulties in relation to delays.
- Maintain current
on the Laboratory Information Management System and be able to train
staff as needed.
- Stay current in
technologies, methodologies and all science-related functions as it is
related to food science.
- Direct a staff of
supervisors, including hiring, salary and performance reviews,
training, and day-to-day operational direction. Assure they are
well-aware of client requirements.
- Support all
corporate quality and continuous improvement processes.
Position Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s Degree
(BS) or its equivalent.
- Broad knowledge
of Food Chemistry
- Advanced
instrumentation knowledge, including HPLC/GC
- Supervisory/Management
experience to direct staff.
- Outstanding
verbal and written skills
- Strong
Information Technology computer skills, including EXCEL, WORD, and Lab
science.
