Job Description

• Implements and executes the SHC Food Safety/Pest Control Program for all business formats.
• In collaboration with the Director of Food Safety, plans, develops and executes innovative Food Safety policies, procedures and best practices
• Monitors Food Safety industry for patterns, trends and health risks; assist in developing appropriate responses/solutions as needed
• Collaborates with Director, Food Safety to develop the execution of business strategies to support Loss Prevention, Safety, Vertical Business Units and all SHC Business formats. .
• Provides direction regarding risk management as it applies to Food Safety
• Validates and ensures compliance to the SHC Food Safety Programs
• Validates compliance to local, state and federal Food Safety Requirements and Laws.
• Develops outlier and exception reports to identify loss opportunities and exposure to the organization.
• Cross functional business partner providing responses to support the food safety program in vertical businesses, SHC departments and business formats. (i.e.; Transportation, Distribution Centers, Store Operations, Buyers, Local Market Place and Legal Department)
• Implements and executes all consumable recalls for Sears Holdings Corporation
• Collaborates with appropriate Sears Holdings business partners and/or Regulatory Agencies to implement and execute company response to food safety hazards and/or emergencies.
• Works with Sears Holdings Crisis Manager, Crisis Management Team, Director, Food Safety and the Regional Food Safety Managers to develop, implement and execute emergency response to disasters both natural and those created by humans that effect food safety, consumable product and pest control.
• In the absence of the Director,Food Safety, assumes total responsibility for the SHC Food Safety Program and the Food Safety Team.

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Minimum requirement Masters Degree in Food Sciences, Food Technology or Public Health. Doctorate preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years food safety, food science, quality assurance, or public health experience
• Knowledge and understanding of Food Safety Regulations and Laws, U.S. Food Code, Food Safety best practices.
• Strong managerial, organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work with diverse business disciplines and influence decisions
• Strong analytical skills with working knowledge of business productivity software with strong emphasis on excel knowledge and abilities
• Knowledge and working understand of US Title 21 ( Consumable Recall Laws)
• Available to travel as needed for the company.
• Must have a valid US Driver’s License
