Quality & Food Safety Coordinator

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with knowledge of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and Association of American Feed Control Officials Inc. (AAFCO) to fulfill the role of Quality and Food Safety Coordinator. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day quality and food safety activities under the Nutrition and Health organization to ensure customer requirements and requests are met while ensuring compliance to FSMA and AAFCO. This inlcudes Raw Material Purchasing Specification approval, Dietary Supplement Finished Format Purchasing Specification approval, Supplier Audit Program, label management and creation of Material Safety Data Sheets. Responsibilities of this position include:

         Ensure adherence to all quality systems including, but not limited to, ISO 900, FSSC 22000 and Dietary Supplement cGMP's with understanding of DuPont's Quality Policy and Procedures

         Support the Quality and Food Safety of a variety of product lines including, but not limited to, Antioxidants, Antimicrobials, Starter Media, Color, Companion Animal Care, Cultures, Dietary Supplements, Food & Beverage Probiotics, Fermentates and Lipase/Rennet

         Manage the supplier audit program for approved suppliers; including an audit to evaluate risks of the product, manufacturer or supply chain of the product

         Facilitate investigation of customer complaints and formulate customer responses

         Manage the approval process for new and changes to primary packaging, raw materials and labels; review regularly to ensure complaine to food safety and product quality

         Write professional statement that comply with legal standards, food/feed regulations and industry guideline to manage liability and risk to the company

         Manage the approval rpocess for new toll manufacturers and changes to existing toll manufacturings to certification specifications

You are a qualified applicant if you meet the following requirements:

         Bachelor's degree in Food Science or Related Field; Or 5+ years experience in the food ingredient manufacturing industry (specifically in a Quality Assurance environment)

         Detailed Knowledge of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and Association of American Feed Control Officials Inc. (AAFCO)

         Experience in Internal, Customer and/or Supplier Auditing

         Ability to operate independantly and in a team environment

         Ability to problem slove using analytical skills; detail-oriented

         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

         Proficient in MS Word/Excel and Lotus Notes

         Adept user of IT systems and SAP knowledge

         Self-Motivated with high level of service performance
