Nutritional Foods Formulator
– Phoenix, AZ
The role and
responsibility of this candidate will require to develop products based on
the direction of the company. The candidate will manage both internal
and external resources to deliver products by meeting timelines, taste,
cost, performance and regulatory expectations.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities (Principle Responsibilities: other duties may be
assigned.)
Formulate functional
food, supplements in tablets, capsules and powder forms
Perform research on current
and new products exploring methods to improve cost, quality, flavor,
texture, nutritional value
Organize and lead
projects and presents results
Develop and manage key
relationships with vendors, supplies and internal departments
Works with manufacturers
in the development of new products and processes
Develops process
documents, data sheets, formulas and standards in the form of critical
control points for manufacturing processes
Required skills:
4-6 years of hands on
experience in product development
Supplement / Nutritional
Foods industry experience required
Raw material sourcing and
qualification experience.
2 years of experience
working with cross functionally within R&D, QA, Marketing
Experience taking new
products from conception through test and final implementation
Solid understanding
of project management
Outstanding
communications skills both verbal and written
Knowledge of food and
safety regulations
Well-organized, detail
oriented and analytical
Works well in a fast
paced environment of changing priorities
Multiple projects and
short deadlines
Ability to be a team
member, work independently and/or provide mentorship on occasion
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of BS Degree in physical science, biological science or nutrition.
Experience with sensory
panel would be helpful
Ability to travel as
required
Excellent organizational
and planning skills
Good interpersonal and
people management skills
Proficient in computer
usage
