Air Products Canada Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air
Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of
industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Cryogenics
Applications Engineer to be based in the Toronto, ON area.
The position will primarily focus on Ontario and Quebec
provinces.
As a member of the North American Merchant Gases Team, this
individual will play a key role in the growth of our business in Canada.
This individual will be initially focused on selling gases,
technology and equipment offerings into the food freezing and chilling
industry and will be responsible for meeting sales and profitability
targets. The individual will also support other cryogenic applications;
however, main focus initially is in support of our Foods business.
Key responsibilities include technical sales using the
individual's process and troubleshooting knowledge, understanding of the
drivers in the market, and proactive sales support. The individual will
need to assess customers'/prospects' problem, analyze the data and
develop a solution based proposal.
Other duties include resolving customer problems, startup support
for freezing systems, and providing input to our research group for new
offering development. This individual will be involved from the initial
contact, all the way through startup and customer retention. This
position will require extensive travel, approximately 30-40%. This role
is key to success in the sales process and requires interfacing with the
various internal functions including regional sales management, sales
account managers, product management, equipment engineers, marketing, and
technology, in addition to external interfaces with customers and equipment
representatives. The individual will need to take initiative, ownership,
act with urgency and communicate effectively with all internal and
external teammates.
Qualifications:
- Technical degree in engineering or technical degree in Food
Science field or Manufacturing related field required; B.S. in Mechanical
or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Individual should have experience in writing and presenting
technical proposals, negotiating commercial agreements, troubleshooting
customer issues and feel comfortable working in a team environment.
- Fluent in French
- 5 or more years experience in food processing and
manufacturing, industrial engineering/plant operations experience is a
plus.
- Strong knowledge of food processing, equipment design and data
monitoring systems.
- Toronto-based office; 30-40% travel; home office arrangement
possible.
