Dairy Foods Business Unit: Land O'Lakes Dairy Foods division is a leading marketer of a full line of dairy-based consumer, foodservice and food ingredient products across the United States.

Position Purpose: * While working with the business unit partners , provide technical risk assessments related to new product and process development.
* Both lead and support technical assignments in areas of new product/process development and product/process improvement.
* Lead the identification, exploration, development and commercialization of new process technologies. Conducts process capabilities of the assigned processes and develops process specs and tolerance parameter.
* Apply scientific method to develop intellectual property in support of strategic business objectives.
* Provide technical support to operations through application of rigorous trouble shooting techniques. Design and execute experiments and analyze data to make sound technical recommendations. On product and process issues.
* Supports the origination of protocepts & technical approach to achieve tactical & strategic project/business objectives while adding to the technology base. Understands business and anticipates future needs. Identifies and assesses emerging technologies in their primary technical discipline. Assists in the development of technical research project plans.
* Participate as an active member of cross functional business teams including marketing, operations, quality and purchasing.
* Coordinates project activities, evaluates progress and supports team members in the achievement of tactical project/business objectives. Conducts research utilizing experimental methodology. Supports in the communication of results to management as appropriate.

Required (Basic) Experience & Education: B.S or M.S. in Chemical Engineering OR B.S. and M.S. in Food Science or related degree. At least 10 years working in a food research or production setting including training or experience in process capability.

Required Competencies & Other Skills: Strong planning and organization skills; ability to manage multiple, rapidly changing priorities; focused to achieve business and customer expectations. Broad knowledge of food process technologies. Excellent communication/interpersonal. Proven technical problem solving ability. Able to work in a fast moving environment. Proactive and results oriented. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proven ability to learn new software programs and systems, and proficient with computers.
