Position will also abide by the guidelines, conditions, policies and procedures set by the Title III, STEM grant and the College. Employment is based on 215 days per grant year. Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.

Requirements

 

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required with 24 hours in Food Science or related field; Master's degree with 18 hours in discipline preferred. Evidence of thorough and accurate knowledge of discipline required. Requires a minimum of three (3) years for each of the following: professional work experience, university research, and/or a combination of research and related work experience; teaching experience, community college; and of curriculum development experience.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop, pilot, and evaluate curricula to include selection and acquisition of needed equipment.
  • Work with program students to identify suitable college/university programs for transfer.
  • Work with STEM Transfer Coordinator to encourage participation of students in the summer STEM research practicum with colleges/universities.
  • Provide leadership for the program e.g., demonstrating an active role in determining the future of the program, working with internal and external stakeholders, and establishing supportive partnerships for the program.
  • Actively participate in marketing activities and community promotional opportunities to provide program information to the prospective students and the public.
  • Develop, prepare, monitor and submit reports as requested by the STEM Project Director.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the STEM Project Director
