Description:
Food Science Technician
The position is part of a team consisting of food scientists,
nutritionists, technologists and culinary experts, whose goal is to
drive added value and quality into our food products. This position
focuses on bench top development of ingredient systems, prototypes and
scale-up production of samples for internal, customer, and consumer
tests.
This position will support a wide range of project activities including
new products, line extensions, and product improvements all pertaining
to cereal and snack product development. Responsibilities include bench
top prototype creation, physical/analytical testing, pilot plant
support, and documentation of experiments.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Ability
to manage multiple tasks on a deadline basis.
- Become knowledgeable
about snacks & cereals pilot plant, lab and analytical
equipment.
- Assist
during the scale-up and start-up of new products.
- Document and protect all
information as required by company policy.
- Ability
to perform routine tasks.
- Have the ability to work
with minimal supervision.
- Other duties as required.

Requirements:
- Bachelors
of Science Degree.
- Basic
food ingredient and processing knowledge.
- Demonstrated
problem-solving skills.
- Proven
innovation and creativity.
- Good
interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Takes
initiative in technical problem solving.
- Knowledge
of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Good
communication skills, both written and oral.
Preferred:
- 1 year
food formulation or industry experience.
- Food
Science degree or similar Food Technology, Food Engineering, etc.
