R&D Manager (Food Science) – Portland, OR


Oversee and participate in product and process development of processed food products with an emphasis on meat proteins.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist Director of R&D to supervise R&D staff
  2. Use R&D equipment and work with production department to use processing equipment as needed.
  3. Use culinary skills to present food products in a professional and creative manner
  4. Conceive and develop new meat products.
  5. Learn new procedures and food technologies that may be pertinent to the meat industry.
  6. Train and oversee R&D personnel.
  7. Practice good housekeeping, GMP, and safety procedures.
  8. Perform duties of Director of R&D when Director is absent

Required skills:

 Bachelor’s degree in food science, animal science, or related field with a strong background in meat science.

Speak, read, and write English fluently
