Food Scientist


This position will develop and maintain International Product specifications and related computer systems for. This position will also respond to International and occasional Foodservice Customer information requests and quality complaint issues.


         Communicate effectively with ingredient suppliers, international customers and regulatory agencies

         Manage and Develop ingredient specifications, procedures, computer systems, and related databases

         Communicate quality/spec/supply expectations, requirements and Quality requirements across the varied supply chains for ingredients, and packaging materials (examples; allergen risk management, Non-GMO product requirements)

         Participate in the Optiva/PLM approval process for Ingredient, Supplier,and processing

         Position will develop matrix relationships within Quality, Supply Chain, International Marketing, Regulatory and R&D, and provide input and influence management in the alignment of Supply Quality strategies, annual objectives, and project plans

         Actively Support Supply Quality and Business Quality corporate teams as necessary


         Knowledge of International regulatory and quality requirements and their practical application for product development and manufacturing

         Familiarity with Optiva or similar recipe management system and ability to work with the system to add information as required

         Strong Analytical, problem solving, and organization skills

         Familiarity with Microsoft Office

         Familiarity with AAOC food testing procedures, food lab testing equipment, and current testing methodologies is a plus

         Familiarity with International Food Safety, Regulatory, and Quality Systems and their application within food processing.

         Familiarity with Sanitation, GMP and Pest Control programs and techniques is a plus

         Knowledge of Quality Standards, and Quality Policies, with skills and ability to execute against requirements.

         Knowledge and general business acumen to support and influence Marketing, Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing, and Category Management processes including supplier partnerships that leverage best practices and technologies.

         BS degree is recommended (Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or similar)

         3-5 Year experience minimum experience
