Currently we have an opportunity available for an Advanced
Specialist (Food Scientist) at our Corporate Office in
Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Advanced Specialist provides leadership and depth of
knowledge in food technology (quality, safety and regulatory
compliance)as related to procured product approval and quality
assurance to comply with the Kroger Corporate Brand Policy.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Approve
procured products and the Kroger Plant Manufactured products.
- Monitor
the quality of procured products and address quality issues.
- Monitor
the quality of some of the Kroger manufactured products.
- Keep up
with changes in targets by working closely with vendors and
Corporate Brands.
- Analyze customer
comments and resolve issues with vendors.
- Provide
leadership in working with Corporate Brands and retail in
resolving product quality issues.
- Follow
labeling regulations (nutrition, ingredients, COOL, warnings...)
which will affect the products and confirm or change product
information on the package so that it is in compliance.
- Prepare
and maintain finished product specification documents.
- Train
and work with other Corporate Food Technology personnel as
potential back up.
- Be able
to handle multiple projects for multiple customers at the same
time
- Supervise
technician or part time help to get audits planned and executed
properly.
- Assess
daily tasks and achieve them in a timely manner

Education/Training/Experience Required
- Demonstrate
excellence in communication, project planning, multi-tasking
problem
solving
and execution skills..
- 5-8
years of experience in Quality Assurance or Product Development.
- Minimum
of, a four-year college degree in Food Science/Technology or
related
fields.
i.e. Food Science, Dairy Science, Bakery Science, Food Microbiology.
