Description
|
The
Food Safety Manager will have direct responsibility for compliance with all
local, state, and federal Food Safety policies governing the Quality
Assurance, and rabbinical supervision of the bakery. Also responsible for
the cleanliness of the plant through directing the efforts of the
Sanitation Department.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Develop Quality Assurance
and Sanitation programs minimizing risk from all regulatory
agencies.
- Establish a program to
inspect all incoming raw materials.
- Analyze all raw materials
specifications and recommend changes to ensure the production of a
consistent, unadulterated product.
- Establish kosher
certification system to ensure all ingredients comply with specific
rabbinical requirements.
- Establish operating and
capital budgets for Sanitation and Quality.
- Develop consumer complaint
systematic procedural check and meetings.
- Develop HACCP and SPC
systems.
- Establish specific,
targeted, and acceptable Quality check ranges.
- Maintain a harmonious
relationship with peers and subordinates.
- Check Quality reports from
previous days run.
- Address hold or scrap
issues.
- Check inbound reports from
in spec.
- Coordinate rounds with
auditors.
- Address issues with
Production.
- Inspect team – walk
through.
- Check labeling from
ingredients listing against what is running.
- Ensure allergen clean ups.
- Responsible for Food
Quality, Food Defense and Food Safety.
- SQF practitioner
responsible for training and implementation of Food Safety and
Quality programs.
- In the event of their
absence, the responsibility is delegated to the Sr. QA Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Must possess excellent
communication and math skills.
- Computer
literate in Microsoft operations (Excel, Word, Power Point).

EDUCATION:
- B.S. in Food Science, or
related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- 8 years experience in food industry.
