Director
of Food Safety & Quality Assurance
For generations our
client Company has been making old-fashioned, premium pork, beef, and
turkey products from fresh, American meats. All meat is slowly cured
and hand trimmed for quality, consistency, and appearance.
This food processor is seeking a Director of Food Safety and Quality
Assurance for their non-union facilities with about 350 employees
located in suburbs north of Philadelphia, PA. The position reports to
the President / CEO and has responsibility for two processing plants.
As Director of Food Safety and QA you will direct the development of
all Food Safety programs and initiatives. Ensure full compliance to
such programs and initiatives through monitoring programs and
employee interactions. Ensure minimum of full compliance with all
governmental food safety regulations.
Establish Quality programs and procedures to ensure that established
standards of quality are consistently achieved.
Requirements
- Masters Degree in food
science required; Ph.D. preferred.
- Minimum 10 years
experience in food industry required; meat industry preferred.
- Capable of designing
and perfectly executing product recalls.
- Ability to interact
effectively with USDA officials, maintaining positive
relationships.
- Formulate and achieve
departmental cost budgets
