Technical Service Engineer – 3M - Maplewood, MN

 

3M is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Technical Service Engineer to play a key role in our growing Food Safety Department.

 

The person hired for the position of Technical Service Engineer located in Maplewood, Minnesota will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:

  • Provide advanced technical solutions for Food Safety products and applications.
  • Identify ideas/solutions for both global and localized products.
  • Coordinate & support technical studies.
  • Conduct technical training and education programs.
  • Work with industry, regulatory and academic leaders in Food Safety.
  • Participate on product development teams.
  • Develop product training materials and technical documentation.

Basic/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Food Science or related science degree
  • Minimum of 2 years combined experience in the laboratory and/or food industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Food/Agriculture Science
  • 3 or more combined years of laboratory and/or Food Industry experience.
  • Experience with microbiological test methods and hygiene monitoring.
  • Working knowledge of food laboratory methodology, techniques, and procedures commonly used in the food, beverage and dairy industry.
  • Strong initiative, decision making, influencing and analytical skills.
  • Experience teaching and/or conveying technical concepts and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication with combined experience in public speaking and presentation
  • Project Management experience and the ability to prioritize work and multi-task.
