Description

PURPOSE OF JOB: The Food Safety Specialist will be responsible for improving and executing food safety systems at Waymouth Farms, Inc. 

 

 ESSENTIAL JOB RESULT AREAS & PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES:

• Assist in development, maintenance and execution of HACCP plans.

• Coordinate Master Sanitation Program.

• Conduct monthly food safety audits and corrective action plans.

• Execute pathogen environmental monitoring program.

• Execute water quality testing program.

• Conduct weekly pest control monitoring.

• Conduct food safety trainings as part of training program.

• Conduct sanitation verification programs.

• Respond and investigate customer complaints

• Train employees for GMP’s, food safety and quality

• Maintain good understanding of food safety requirements.

• Assist as a back-up to quality control technicians and quality control manager.

• Able to work in a fast pace environment.

• Keep work area clean and organized.

• Keep accurate and legible documentation.

• Take responsibility for actions.

• Take the initiative to implement new projects.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• BS in science related field

• 6 month food industry experience preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Fluent in English language

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Excellent math aptitude.

• Ability to interpret and graph data

REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to interpret and graph data

• Ability to prioritize

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to stand 8 to 10 hours

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
