The MicroLab/Food Safety Lead is responsible for leading Food Safety practices, microbiology sampling and testing, documenting and reporting and providing recommendations for improvements with food safety/quality programs and streamlining the micro lab process. The Food Safety Lead works independently on 3rd shift.
Experience and Skills:
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of work experience and training and education
Excellent written communication skills in order to maintain a strong line of communication with company resources between shifts
Must have demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills in order to make independent decisions and communication on proactively
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of microbiology and chemistry, laboratory equipment, instrument maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and basic statistical methods; must have computer skills. Food Microbiology with AOAC validation experiences a plus.
Self-motivated person with strong organizational, time management and planning skills
Familiarity with concept of continuous improvement. Must exhibit the flexibility needed to respond to frequent changes in requirements
