|
GENERAL PURPOSE
|
|
The mission of the Food Safety & Quality (FSQ)
organization is to lead the development, implementation and execution
of quality and food safety assurance systems in support of the
strategic plans of The Schwan Food Company.
This position, under direct supervision, may support the
implementation or maintenance of food safety and quality systems
developed for the manufacture of finished products for The Schwan
Food Company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
|
|
Learns and applies the Schwan values
Becomes familiar with Schwan products
Receives appropriate training and application of food safety and
quality requirements and practices
Develops business relationships with Product Development, Operations,
etc.
Completes tasks assigned in a timely fashion
Develops, performs, completes and presents on one intern project
where the intern will take ownership of the project, seek out
resources needed and manage the project to completion
Assists in rotation of other FSQ staff (Plant Technician,
Microbiology Technician) around vacation schedules
Applies scientific concepts to production processes
Completes other project responsibilities as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
|
|
Education: Currently enrolled in college degree program in Food Science,
Grain Science, Dairy Science, Animal Science or related field with
previous lab experience helpful. GPA of 3.0 or higher required and
junior or senior status preferred.
|
|
Years of Related Experience: 0 -2 years

|
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Basic
communication and interpersonal skills. Basic PC skills including
Microsoft Office Suite. Basic problem solving skills according to
position. Basic mathematical skills including algebra, percentage,
fractions, and word problems.
