Scientist R&D Manager at a local Food Production Company located in
Schwenksville, PA.

This is a permanent, first shift. The pay rate is based upon experience.
As a Food Industry Research and Development Manager you will be response for:
Creation of new product lines or individual product in coordination with
Sales Department
Constant review of existing product formulas for economies and quality
improvement
Satisfy customers needs for product formulation and
ideas
Maintain updated and legal labeling for all products brought to market
Search for efficiencies and quality improvements throughout the production
process
Better purchasing of ingredients
Monitor industry trends
Monitor the competition
KEY TASKS:
Examine two products per week:
a)
Check overall appearance for possible improvement
b)
Check ingredient costs for savings. Begin with the highest volume products
and continue towards the lowest volume products.
Match requests from customers to modify or formulate custom formulas needed.
Constantly monitor ingredient changes relative to labeling. Modify or create
labels accordingly.
Active involvement in process and equipment that contribute to improved
efficiencies and/or improved quality
Monitor market trends and bring to the attention of management via e-mail
report and/or R&D meetings with Sales and Production. How do these trends
affect Don???s and Don???s
customer base?
Assist QA Manager with everyday duties as necessary. Overlap between QA and
R&D is expected and required.
