Description

Responsibilities and Duties:

         Evaluate existing raw ingredients and finished goods and identify meaningful cost savings opportunities

         Create documents to be used for new ingredient submissions

         Evaluate potential alternate raw ingredients and suppliers

         Assist QA/ QC and Production with documentation of SOP documents for blending and filling

         Conduct ongoing evaluation of blending procedures to assist in identifying process improvements to existing products

         Evaluate package labeling for accuracy as well as potential marketing claims for promotion

         Assist in developing standards for co-packers, keeping regulations and specifications up to date

         Conduct shelf life sensory studies to evaluate successfulness of new and reformulated products

         Prepare documentation and coordinate communication with outside regulatory agencies specifically internationally

         Prepare regulatory documents for supplements and foods

         Research and develop product knowledgebase for use throughout the company

         Perform competitor analyses

Education:

         Bachelors Degree in Food Science or other relevant area of study

Experience:

         Minimum 2 years experience in Product Development or related field of study

         Minimum 1 year QA/QC and/or Regulatory Affairs

Knowledge & Skills Required:

         Strong working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Product Development

         Ability to work effectively as both a member and a leader of a team.

         Strong attention to detail and follow-up

         Problem solving and excellent communication skills

         Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
