Description
3M's Food Safety Department is a fast-growing dynamic business that designs,
manufactures and sells products that help food processing companies ensure
the safety and quality of their products. We are seeking a Marketing
Supervisor for our global marketing organization responsible for supporting
the Pathogen category, a dynamic and growing new business within the Food
Safety Department. The position reports to the Category Marketing Manager and
will be located in Maplewood, MN.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Supporting the Category Manager in developing portfolio strategy and
marketing planning, including product line roadmaps, market segmentation and
product positioning
- Assisting in defining and achieving global category revenue objectives
- Identifying and defining potential business growth opportunities including
new products, product line enhancements/extensions,
acquisitions/partnerships, sales channels or new markets
- Providing marketing leadership on new product programs, including defining
product vision and prioritizing product and customer requirements.
- Working with technical R&D counterparts to translate market
requirements into product design features
- Developing and executing global launch plans, including sales tools,
marketing collateral, sales guides and training
- Providing marketing leadership in working with cross-functional
counterparts to manage products through their life cycle
- Gathering industry information, including qualitative and quantitative
market research, and interpreting it for trends and opportunities
- Interacting with regional sales & marketing organizations to understand
local market situations and provide product support
- Creating global demand by developing marketing programs and campaigns for
existing products lines and driving regional implementation
- Create and manage global price corridors to maintain expected gross margin
goals for the business in balance with the growth goals
- Monitoring and analyzing competitive developments and products
- Supporting global demand forecasting by acting as liaison between supply
chain and regional marketing counterparts to ensure stable supply of product
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without
sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
Qualifications
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Minimum of three years marketing experience in product and/or brand
management
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Masters degree in Marketing
- Five or more years of product, brand management and/or marketing experience
- Two or more years of new product introduction experience, working in
cross-functional new product development teams, writing and executing launch
plans
- One or more years of qualitative and quantitative market research
experience
- One or more years of project management experience
- Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
- Experience working in the Food Processing industry or with
microbiology-related products.
