We are seeking a senior auditor for our NSF Davis Fresh office to
provide produce industry audit services and technical food safety
consulting.
PRINCIPAL
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.Conduct food safety and quality evaluations and risk assessments.
2.Assume a lead role in executing program requirements for Davis Fresh
clients, as well as serving as a liaison with the Davis Fresh team to
ensure completion of client projects.
3.Provide representation, complete projects and signed agreements with NSF
Davis Fresh clients such as domestic and international fresh produce
growers, harvesters, packers, processors, and shippers. As well as
supermarkets, food service companies, import/export companies, and
governmental agencies.
4.Provide a timely response to customer inquiries, complaints and concerns.
5.Develop cost effective work plans for the completion of assigned audits
including administrative responsibilities (reports, assessments, sampling,
travel).
6.Monitor and report client needs, agreement issues, and competitive
threats to management team.
7.Establish and maintain effective communication with program
representatives and project managers as it relates to assigned clients
while maintaining strong professional and interpersonal relations with NSF
Davis Fresh clients, service companies, growers/shippers, and government
officials.
8.With direction from Technical Manager, provide training and calibration
with other field auditors.
9.Conduct pesticide and/or microbial sampling and risk assessments.
10.Communicate with current and potential clients, and NSF Davis Fresh
personnel regarding identification of additional NSF services that may be
beneficial (examples - new products for certification, test only services,
quality system registration).
11.Perform other duties as requested.
REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Bachelor's degree in food, agriculture, biology or other related
scientific field.
2.A minimum of five (5) years experience in the agriculture industry in a
food safety role such as field level food safety inspections / audits.
3.Ability to work independently.
4.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to
convey information in a concise, accurate and understandable manner.
5.Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
6.Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and
PowerPoint.
7.Display willingness to cooperate with others by providing timely,
relevant and accurate information or assistance as requested.
8.Ability to adjust to new and changing environments, priorities and/or
ideas. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to accept additional
responsibilities.
9.Demonstrate the ability to identify areas of need/analyze problems,
develop effective solutions and take action without immediate direction.
10.Display professionalism and set positive example for others.
11.Must possess a valid driver's license.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Masters' degree in food, agriculture, microbiology or other scientific
field.
2.Training in GAP, GMP, BRC, SQF, IFS, Dutch HACCP, LGMA, GlobalGAP,
Organic certification, HACCP and other industry related standards.
3.Language skills (Spanish).

2.Required to stand or walk for long periods of time.
3.Required to work outdoors and in cold room environments.
4.Required to operate a motor vehicle.
5.Extensive use of computers and other electronic equipment.
6.Medium to heavy physical effort required (ability to carry equipment
weighing 25 lbs or less).
7.Ability to follow client and regulatory required safety practices.
