We are seeking a Sr. Manager-Quality Assurance to join the team in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) zone:

 

Reporting to the AVP of Quality Assurance for the APMEA Zone this position will be based in Shanghai, but will require extensive travel within the zone. Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical assistance to primarily China and Taiwan further processing, and China vertically integrated poultry plants, with a strong chicken product/poultry emphasis. 
  • Provide technical support to China further processing QA team in developing chicken raw material suppliers.
  • Support in monitoring China Chicken raw material suppliers performance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Review plant quality assurance programs to prevent major deviations and ensure that all deviations are handled according to policy.
  • Work with QA plant managers in order to develop ways to improve on quality KPIís, product consistency and other factors that affect quality and profitability
  • Represent OSI on customer councils and customer related initiatives.
  • Ensure that specifications are provided to the production facility, the terms in the specifications are followed and that management is trained on how to implement the terms of the specification.
  • Monitor and report all plant quality performance and status of projects to Quality Assurance Director.
  • Will require 30-50% travel within China and the region.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

     Bachelor degree in Food Science, Animal/Poultry Science or related fieldrequiredMasters degree preferred

     Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar position within the food/poultry industry

     Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and international food safety standards.

     Experience in agricultural field work and produce/crop experimentation is a plus.

     Excellent communication and organizational skills.

     Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point in order to write reports and presentations.

Language Skills Required:

      English;  strong command of verbal; fluent written

      Mandarin Chinese: Good command of spoken and written

In addition the qualified candidate will have prior experience or abilities:

      Experience in implementation and maintenance of HACCP and GMP systems, with certifications.

      Ability to run scientific field tests in produce and crop production

      Use of statistical software to analyze data in order to come up with solutions to problems

      Use of root cause analysis to resolve quality-related customer complaints.
