Description
·
Physically inspect incoming produce for defects
· Make accept/reject calls based on quality of product and potential customer
impact
· Perform receive processes, ensuring reliable inventory of product
· Work with fulfillment center to determine possible shorts and place POs
where appropriate
· Manage returns with vendors, including paperwork and documentation of
quality issues
· Maintain close communications with vendors to communicate quality issues
and understand root causes
· Document vendor performance and work with merchandisers to identify
opportunities and solutions
· Communicate to retail and produce teams current market quality and concerns
· Assist in developing and documenting quality standards for Amazon Fresh
acceptable produce
· Develop new processes to ensure Amazon Fresh receives high quality produce
· Train new employees in Amazon Fresh quality metrics and inspection
techniques
· Work autonomously
Basic
Qualifications
· A
completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or 2+ years Amazon
experience.
· Working knowledge of Food Safety programs and requirements
· Minimum 3 years experience inspecting perishable
fruits and vegetables (preferably for a retail grocery company or the USDA)
· Familiarity with specialty, ethnic or exotic fruits and vegetables
· Strong MS Office products knowledge and skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· must be flexible to work weekends and/or overnight shifts
· Experience managing the entire product life cycle for all produce items.
· Knowledge of USDA, food safety and hygiene standards
· Utilize proper receiving, handling and spec checks on all product
Preferred
Qualifications
· USDA
Inspection Training and Certification in Perishable Fruit and Vegetables and
Dairy products or 3 years of equivalent experience
Experience in inventory management and quality
control
