Engineering is seeking a motivated individual to join the Quality
Lab & Analytical Sciences Group for a Major Food Manufacturer
in the Chicago metropolitan area.
Job
Description: The qualified individual will evaluate
consumer complaint samples and
determine if further testing and analysis is needed in the Quality Lab.
Responsibilities Include:
* Receive customer complaints
and provide visual identification of potential quality defects,
FM, or other unfavorable occurrences
within Manufacturers products produced in the Domestic U.S.
* Make the determination if a
sample requires more analysis and will work in coordination with the
Division Quality Manager, to assess what analysis is
appropriate.
* Accurately log and review
sample and determine if further testing/analysis is needed. If
further testing
is needed, determine together with the Division QA manager
what tests are needed and to be
performed by whom.
* Receive report of analytical
tests and oversee interpretation of results to convey to
Consumer
Response via a lab report.
* Store samples under
refrigerator and/or frozen temperatures for the required length of time
defined below, and the properly dispose of after this
time has expired.
Requirements
B.S. in
Biology, Chemistry or related field.
Proficiency with Word,
Excel, Access, Outlook and Windows XP is a must
Experience in a scientific
laboratory setting is a must
Experience in the food
manufacturing industry is a plus
Proficiency with digital
photography is a must
Ability to work
independently and be self-motivated
Good problem solving skills
Well organized
Must be familiar with and
know how to use a stereo microscope and a compound microscope
A good work ethic and a
willingness to learn is a must
