QUALITY AND FOOD SAFETY MANAGER – Chicago, IL

This position provides leadership, direction, and oversight to the plant, for Quality and Food Safetyand Sanitation.
This role exists to ensure the facility delivers the required standards of quality and food safety according to Kellogg and regulatory policies, procedures, and practices. This role is also responsible for delivery of continuous improvement and working with Corporate Quality in the execution of company programs. The role delivers these accountabilities through direct involvement with manufacturing, corporate quality, the plant leadership team, and plant employees. This position is required to provide a high degree of operational management and execution, focus on continuous improvement and the ability to ensure food safety of all products being produced and packaged and the facility.

Position Requirements

Requirements:
5+ years experience in quality & food safety.
BA degree in food science, microbiology, or equivalent is required.
Previous HACCP certification program design and implementation is required.
Thorough technical knowledge to design, implement and drive compliance of quality & food safety programs and systems is required.
Strong written & verbal communication skills, analytical ability, leadership strengths and ability to work effectively with a team are required.

Preferred:
Experience with SQF requirements is desired.
Experience in managing people and processes are preferred.
Prior Quality & Food Safety leadership experience is preferred.
Food processing and packaging is desired.
Computer software skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
